Big country :) What city gets your vote?
  • peterarmstrong · 3 months ago
    Vancouver.
  • alexis · 3 months ago
Now you're talking. BC would be fun. We may have to put this to a vote...

I organize the local Ruby meetup, and I could help with this event if you needed anything and I was in town. (We don't just do Ruby topics; Eric Ries spoke at the meetup to about 90 people a few months back...) However, we're just sorting out a new space, since the place we had been hosting meetups (WorkSpace) shut down last month. There's a pretty active tech community here. Also, October 16 is "BookCamp", which is a 1-day BarCamp style event. So doing something near that (or at it?) would presumably work too...

Breadpig--the school will be well built, right? If you all need structural engineering guidance, please advise and I can route you to pro bono tech assistance if need be. Schools in emerging nations haven't performed well in natural disasters--a few precautions can add lots of integrity to the structure.
